Appeals Court Ruled Scottsdale AZ Can’t Prohibit Sign Walkers
PHOENIX (AP) – A state appellate court has ruled that Scottsdale can’t prohibit sign walkers from holding, carrying and waving advertising signs on public streets and sidewalks.
The unanimous decision Tuesday by a three-judge Court of Appeals panel upholds a trial judge’s ruling in favor of the state in a lawsuit filed by Scottsdale in an attempt to determine the validity of the city’s ordinance.
The Court of Appeals’ ruling said Scottsdale’s ordinance cannot stand because it conflicts with a state law that prohibits outright municipal bans on sign walkers.
