A DMA is the geographical area that a billboard or ground sign reaches.

OTS “OPPORTUNITY TO SEE”

OTS relates to an advertising campaign and the number of exposures or opportunities that a certain audience gets to see a particular advertisement.

POP “POINT OF PURCHASE”

POP is used by marketers and retailers to describe where consumer products should be placed, such as product displays strategically positioned in a grocery store aisle or an advertisement in a weekly flyer.

POS “POINT OF SALE”

POS refers to all efforts to increase sales at the time of purchase.

SOV “SHARE OF VOICE”

SOV is the weight or percentage of a brand’s advertising activities compared to the total advertising activity for that market or product type.

TRP “TARGET RATING POINT”

In the OOH ad world, TRPs refer to the percentage of a company’s target audience that views its advertisements. 

VAC “VISIBILITY ADJUSTED CONTACT”

The VAC represents how many contacts an advertising panel will receive; in other words, how many people are likely to view that advertisement. The VAC is computed by considering a variety of parameters such as size, viewing distance, and any obstructions, among others.
